: Hi all again and thanks for your help.. I have another question now, it's about QS backup batteries. I don't think it's in the manual but I have heard some things about needing to replace it after a few years or something?

: I have had my QS8 for some time and I am not knowledgeable when it comes to this so I'm wondering if anyone else has already had their battery empty out, and if so, how they got a new one and put it in?

: Also, is the battery drained quicker when the QS is on or off? I am a bit puzzled and have not been able to find answers anywhere, it boggles the mind! Please let me know!

: Thank you!

The backup battery found in most synth is usually a CR2035. You can find that model in "every" store.
You have to make a backup of the user memory before removing the battery. The battery can last for 5 years
from the moment it is installed in the synth (not the date of purchase..). If you don't want to take chances and get a "battery low" message on a gig, replace your battery. If you use your synth only in studio you can wait to get the error message before replacing the battery assuming you backup your memory after each session (something you should do anyway...).

After the panel is removed, you should be able to locate the battery on the pc board; it's a small (diameter is about 1 inch) silver circle.
I don't know exactly where it is located since I don't have a QS8.
