: I use a QSR for sequence playback in live performances. Since I have 40-50 sequences to deal with, I didn't setup separate mixes for all of them. I just leave it in "Multitmbrl" (User Mix 00) and let the sequencer edit this mix at the beginning of each one.

: My question is, how can I make the QSR use the same effects patch for every sequence? I know I have to assign a channel for effects but since I use the same mix every time, that assigned channel has different patch every time, therefore changing the effects patch when I go from song to song. Is there a way to permanently assign an effects config to a mix? I just need a little reverb on the sequences.

: I thought of assigning effects to channel 1 (for example) and picking a patch with the effects I like and using that patch on channel 1 on all my sequences. But I didn't want to clutter up my seq's this way.

The simplest way would be to assign a patch with the desired effect to a channel that doesn't get used in a sequence. That way it would never change. But if your sequences use all 16 channels, you can send program changes to the effect section only.Look in your manual in the effect edit section under the "effect program change via midi" function.
