Thanks for the info - I've got a limited budget, so I've decided not to go the digital mixer route for now - going to stick with my Mackie. I think I've decided to upgrade my analog input to balanced with the M-Audio Delta 44 connected directly to my Mackie and possible the QSR. Later, I'll get a digital-only card to handle connections to the QSR ADAT out and MD/CD-R equipment; I've been considering the WaveCenter card for that. Good to know it works for you.

: Alex -

: I use the Frontier Design Wave Center PCI card on my computer. This has both Coax spdif i/o, as well as optical i/o that is switchable between 8 channels of ADAT and 2 channels of Toslink. The card also has two midi i/o sets (32 channels total) and some very flexible routing and clock setting functions.

: I also use a Yamaha 01v mixer with the added i/o card that also has 8 channels of ADAT and 2 of channels of coax spdif. I've been extremely happy with this setup to access the QSR and a bunch of other processing devices.

: Let me know if you need any other info. By the way, I have put together a bunch of useful QSR sysex files that I run as autoloads out of cakewalk PA9 when I do sequencing involving Multitimbral to make sure that everything is set up just right at the outset. If you're interested I'd be happy to share 'em. Just send me a note and I can forward them.
