Good luck with this one! I have a QS 6.1 and have asked the same basic question for a couple of months. I don't think anyone has it. I even e-mailed Alesis and never got a response. Time for a follow up email I guess.

If you right-click on the keys in piano roll view, you will be able to switch to drum mode, but I haven't been able to see anything other than General Midi Drums, and the kits that I have for my Boss Dr5 Drum Machine. The INS file I have cobbled together contains the note names for each percussion instrument in each kit. That's what I want, and I assume you want for the QS patches 120+ for each bank.

I'll continue to keep an eye out and let you know. Please do the same for me, as the patch/banks are the same for our two synths. If we have to, we can split the task up and write our own INS file, but I'm not quite sure how to match the note names / numbers up with the keys.

BTW I also have the EuroDance card, so there are a few more kits that will have to be created.

Kind regards,
Michael

: I purchased Q.S 8.1 a couple of days ago, and I got ins files from cakewalk home page. but I have problem with durm notation. when I activate a piano roll view, it is not for drum. It is just same as any other instruments.
: How do I get the ins files that support the drum patches in piano roll view.
: or if I am not aware of some tips for it, please let me know. Thank you!!!
