I'm a non-musician trying to determine a suitable (non-toy) digital keyboard for my aspiring 12 & 13 year olds. I'm concerned about distracting my kids with a synthesiser and more interested in straight up piano for learning, then move on to more complex things. Any suggestions? Are my concerns well founded? I've focused on the yamaha p80 and similar models of korg and kurzweil. Any recommendations/advice much appreciated.
