: Is the freeloader application capable of transfering its sysex data through a regular usb midi-interface like the MidiSport, or does it require a serial solution?

Hi,

I’ve never used freeloader because I found it difficult to use. If you want to load songlists, then maybe you can get it to work for you. If you just want to load into the user bank the additional patches included with the Alesis CD or Qcards, or reload the factory presets, then SyxLibEd works great for me.

SyxLibEd is a Sysex files manager and database that allows you to archive patches of any MIDI device that supports System Exclusive.

You can download it from
http://www.october28.com/syxlibed_home.asp

It works with my Alesis USB cable and automatically recognized my port when I opened the software for the first time.

I realize this doesn't answer your question, but it may be useful.

Kind regards, Michael
