does your sequence program show midi activity when you hit the keyboard? This is usually a flashing green light. If not try switching the cables: cable midi in to your kb midi in and cable out to kb out.
This is how I had to hook mine up. I know it seems backwards but I guess that's the way they wired those adapter cables.
