RAM card problem

I have a QS6 and use a Quadrasynth RAM card for my own programs and mixes so I won't have to overwrite the QS6 on board User bank sounds and will have plenty of space for my own stuff. Was playing a gig the other night and the card suddenly went bonkers. Mix names showed up as gibberish and nothing worked anymore. Needless to say the gig got tense but we improvised. When I got home I determined that a large number of the mixes and programs on the card had just about every one of their parameters changed, apprently randomly but with some consistency. For example, many of the "pitch" parameters were downtuned 8 semitones. Some of the mixes and programs were unaffected. The battery in the card seems to be fine, and I am having no problem reprogramming and saving to the card, i.e. no permanent damage seems to have been done. Anyone know what may have caused this. Is a power surge or low voltage problem a possibility? My bass player suggested that a voltage regulator would prevent it from happening again. $450. Ouch. Help!
