: I'm planning to by a keyboard, I think an Alesis
: would be a good choice but I'm not sure about to buy
: a QS8 or a QS7, how much superior is one over the other?

: One more thing, is it true that the keys in the Qs8
: lose their quality with time?

    I just got my QS8. I have had a QS6 for a year now,
and I can say that the quality of the construction of both
synths are above that of Yamaha and the older synths
from Roland and Kurzweil that I had played before
    now.

The only real issue between the 7 and the 8 is whether
you think you need the extra 12 keys and/or whether
you like weighted action or not.

The plastic keys are better for playing live synth-type
sounds with, but the weighted action is much more
expressive for studio work and live work, but is
a bit more work to play on a night by night basis.

I use both live depending on what type of sound and
    song I am playing.

My understanding is that the 7 is identical to the 8
except for the weighted keys and the amount of keys.

I had read something about the action becoming better
actually as the synth is played more. I guess it gets
a bit broken in - but I'm sure that's very subjective.
