: Can anyone tell me if the NanoPiano's grand piano
: is the same as in the QS8 and QSR?

It is, but I think there's one important difference regarding the piano- you can modify the patch on the QSR, but not on the Nano.

: And any comparisons with Kurzweil's
: MicroPiano?

The Kurz has a mellower sound; I like it better than the patches on the Nanopiano.

I have some Alesis piano patches on my web page (www.best.com/~sams/alesis). I think this makes the Alesis QS into a good piano, so my order of preference would be QSR followed by Micropiano followed by Nanopiano. I don't think the Nano is good for classical music. They all sound very different, so let your ears be the judge.

But the Alesis factory patches are not representative of the best piano sound the QSR can make.
