Just to set things right: the original poster (Eurastus Bugwhiskers) mailed me that QE2 was not the cause of his problems after all: he had his QS routed through an effect unit.
Les is right: an editor can not do damage to a synth.
This is not to say the QE2 that shippes with various QS models is bug-free; at the time there was very little time for me to finish the program. Afterwards the bugs have been removed; the newest version is available from www.midiworld.com/qe2; the followup of QE2, QE Plus for Win95/NT, is available from www.midiworld.com/qe2/qeplus
