: I was wondering if the 64 voice polyphony of the QS-8 only applied to a single sound source. I noticed many patches use 2 - 4 sounds. Does that mean I only have 16 (or 8!) voice polyphony when 4 sounds are used (as is the case with the nice piano patches)?

I believe what you say is true. Reference page 27 in your Reference manual,
"QS Polyphony." However, the QS has a feature which helps you manage
polyphony (ref. Page 64, "Sound Overlap" in the "Amp/Range" section).
I don't completely understand it. But I do know, in my few months of using
the QS, that I have stacked quite a few voices together in a mix, gotten the
nice lush sounds I like, and not had too much problem with polyphony.
