I also have the sc8820 and i am using the axiom-61 controller kb using midi out from axiom to midi in on sc8820.
If you have the sc8820 manual it shows how to access other sounds. You must enter 3 values. the msb#, the lsb# and pc# in that order.
Example: 001(MSB variation), 004(LSB sc8820 sound map), 016(program cntrl organ sound) I think you can still download manual from EDIROL.
If your present controller doesn't have these 3 entrys it will not access other sounds.
I can access all the sounds in a live session without a computer. Hope this helps.
