Logi Platinum MIDI setup

I have Logic platinum with an Audiowerk 8 souncard and a Emagic MT4 midi interface.
I am used to using cubase and are having problems setting up midi. I have connected it right but with in to outs but can get any sound. It will record the note but no sound on recording or payback.
Please help
