You'll probably also find that your browser stores downloaded files in a temporary directory: Internet Explorer for example has a subdirectory where the MIDI file that's loaded into your media player will be listed under a filename such as x[1].mid. Search your hard disk for x*.mid and you'll probably find it - if it's a sequence you want to keep you can then copy it to another directory and rename it.
