Yamaha 2100 and Cubase SX playback

My son has a Yamaha 2100 and has recorded his music with Cubase SX. When he tries to playback his music, with the Yamaha as playback device, he does not get the result he wants. The sounds of the instruments and drums are not the same as when he playes the song himself. We have to tell Cubase to use certain instrumentbanks, but how do we select them in Cubase? The manual of the keyboard mentioned something about MSB and LSB but where do we change these settings? His music teacher could't help him either. All suggestions are welcome!
