Getting signal from keyboard to cubase sx

Help! I've recently bought a Fatar TMK88 midi keyboard and i've connected it up to my pc using cubase sx for the sound. But on booting up cubase i'm not getting a signal from the keyboard. I've borrowed my mates keyboard and his works. I've also tried my keyboard through a module and amplifier and it works too. On another forum someone said to check that it's on the same channel as cubase but because theres no display on the keyboard i don't know how to do this. Can anyone help?
