Problem: same instrument on all midi channels

Hello,
I recently bought Voyetra's USN Music Studio Kit, which includes a USB MIDI cable and Record Producer software as the sequencer.
I connected the MIDI cable to my Kawai K5m module, and tried listening to a multi-track .MID file.
The problem I get is that all the tracks sound in the K5 as the same instrument. If I change the patch for any track, then all other tracks sound as that instrument.
I guess it's related to the K5 Midi configuration, but i've tried everything and it doesn't work.
If anybody has any ideas or knows about the K5, I would really appreciate the help.
