'Failed to open document'

Hey,
In the past few years I successfully downloaded many many midi files,
but now I cannot open this one midi file which I really need. I use
Cakewalk and when I try to open the file a window appears saying
'failed to open document'. Does anybody know how to solve this
problem???
I hope anyone can help me
