HELP PLEASE! MIDI in Reason

Hey folks,
I recently bought a cord to hook up my GNX3 guitar workstation to my computer. It goes from a midi in/out to a USB. The cord has a unit on it that has three lights. One showing the use of the USB, one for the midi in, and the other for the midi out. I set up the drivers and the device works. Now I want to be able to record things from it into my computer using REASON v2.0. In the preferences, I have already identified the device as a midi input, but I can't figure out how to get REASON to recognize my GNX3. The midi in LED light never goes on, saying that REASON recognizes it. Any ideas?
