Problems with Audio

I own a Toshiba Satellite 1135 with Windows XP; this problem started today. I have the Avance AC97 sound drive. Today, I restarted my computer after it crashed; now, whenever I play something, it comes out sounding really weird. It sounds as if it is being played in a big hall; it sounds weird to me. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem?
