I don't consider $25 for a short 6ft cable cheap. I know they are high priced compared to what they should cost, but what can you do other than make your own if you have the savvy for it. I think $25+ is high for MIDI cables (or any Audio cables for that matter). I have the MIDI->Gameport and it was approx. $25. To get a single MIDI cable (MIDI to MIDI) I am looking at approx. the same price should I decide to get a MIDIMan 4x4 for future expansion capabilities. Which I had the hardware to make my own cables! A necessary evil though.
