Cubase SX and Yamaha PSR-290?

I am new to using midi. I have a yamaha psr-290 keyboard and I would like to be able to record songs on to cubase. I am having trouble getting any sound. I have a M-Audio 24/96 sound card w/midi inputs I only have my keyboard midi out connected to the card. I dont know where to begin. I want to be able to record the sounds from my keyboard to cubase. I also would like to use my keyboard as a controller for the midi vst sounds. Can anyone help PLEASE?
