Why is it only playing one note at a time?

I'm going nuts. I've imported a midi file into protools. Something I found on the internet. It's a 2-track file. It looks perfectly normal. Like every other midi file. But it will only play the top note for each track. Instead of hearing chords, I'm hearing 2 notes at a time. I've checked everything I can tink of. Any idea?
