Cakewalk 9 record playback troubles

Iv'e been using cakewalk 9 and everything was fine until recently my computer crashed and i had to pretty much start from scratch. The problem is that now when i try to record a new track while a previously recorded track is simultaneously playing, the new track record the audio from the previous track. I'm not sure if some sound card information changed after the crash or what. If anyone has advice it would be greatly appreciated.
