Different tracks, different sounds

I'm a midi beginner. I've managed to record and playback through my keyboard. I'm using midisoft studio le and it seems to provide some 70 - 80 different instrument sounds. I'd like to be able to play back different tracks via different instruments e.g. piano, bass, drums within the same composition but I've had no luck. I'm using an audiophile usb interface. Could it be that the different instrument sounds are linked to my internal sound card and by selecting the audiophile as my sound card, I can't access these sounds ? Thanks in advance..
