Shouldnt matter at all. Also there is a reset button on most hardware to day. As soon as u start playing your sequencertracks the midi msgs will be sendt to your gear so it shouldnt really matter. Your problem is surely somewhere else. Either in the hookup of your gear, or in the windows sounddriver setup/mixer somewhere. Thats where I most often find some problems to overcome when I hook up my gear after have been away for a while and maybe changed computer/soundcard.
