Hi Bob

I'm a beginner at this too, but I think I have got the cable bit sussed. The correct cable is basically Y-shaped, with two Midi plugs at one end, and an eight(?)pin plug at the other end. The eight(?)pin goes into your PC, into the sound card socket where a joystick would be connected. The two Midi plugs go into the piano (as I recall, the cable plug marked "in" goes to the piano socket marked "out".)

Hope this helps.
