Merry Christmas Rachel,
I had the same problems myself earlier this year. I ended up downloading a free sequencer program from Download.com (anvil studio)
When you get the software loaded, it makes it easier to see and manipulate where your input is going. Also, check in your control panel, system, soundcard, drivers file to see what you have loaded as far as your soundcard. I am also running Windows 95 and was lucky enough to find a decent soundcard (and sounds) already in place. I would still recommend using a sequencer/recorder type program to make your playing easier.

: I just got a yamaha psr 170, I have a MIDI cable from the keyboard to the gaming port on my computer, I can't find any drivers that support using the gaming port. I have win 95 and soundblaster 16 on one computer. and win 98 and soundblaster pro on the other. please help I have been trying to figure this out all weekend. I'm losing my mind here!!! Thanks
