No sound in some midis using SB live latests drivers

I use my SB live for midi playing using soundbanks.
I just reinstalled the computer (windows XP) and upgraded to latests available SB live drivers.
This ones come with renew look in nearly all applications. Mixer has now a nice blue colored skin.
The point is that with this updated drivers certain midi files stopped working.
Allways the same. If I use SW synthesis sound they work fine, but with soundbanks (anyone) they just does not sound.
if I downgrade to previous drivers (& apps) sound works fine again.
I contacted SB hotline support and they suggested to use previows drivers.
The problem is that old drivers are slower (make windows booting take longer) and less stable. Some applications give me Crashs from time to time.
I've been unable to figure out what makes some midis work fine and other doesn't work at all (always the same).
Has anyway the same problem? any work arround?
I don't have exact drivers versions right now (i'm at work) but I can get them tomorrow...
