cheetah mk5/midi probs

Hi..i was using a evolution mk125 with reason with no probs..just picked up an old Cheetah mk5.plugged the same midi lead in and nothing..the keyboard controls have power and i can work out the program/octave/channel button but how do you use the transmit function written above the last two keys?is it a combunation of holding down keys,etc or is the keyboard screwed..any onwers/former owners got any advice?had the same probs years ago with a roland controller
