hi there, same problem here with AC97 MIDI in Win ME. I am not as fortunate as you are, I can't find any MIDI port option in my BIOS as you suggested. All I have is AC97 Audio enable/disable and AC97 modem enable/disable (why modem anyway?). I tried everything from un-re-installing all sorts of drivers to dodgy .sys files found on even dodgier websites...
I'm about to give up and bang my trusty old Crystal back into the comp ;)
