Yamaha S80, Win XP,Finale 2001, XG lite 3.0

I have a Yamaha S80 hooked up to my computer with Windows XP via a Midiman 2x2 midi interface through the USB port. My computer recognizes the hardware, but when I open Finale 2001 or XGWorks lite, and I play on my keyboard, it's not recording. What do I need to do?
