Well, the Cakewalk comment on the IRQ and the suggestion that the Audigy is the problem are compatible, so that's two vs. one. Also, Cakewalk is relatively robust software, and problems of that magnitude are likely to be with some aspect of your hardware configuration.

The easiest way of changing the IRQ taken up by a PCI card like the Audigy is simply to move it to a different pci slot. People often say that slot 3 (counting away from the AGP port, where the graphics card sits) is a good one to choose. Certainly don't put it in slot 1.

Not certain knowledge, but that might get you started. For more help, I suggest you post detailed specifications (e.g. what motherboard? operating system? Do you have an up-to-date BIOS, and if your motherboard uses a VIA chipset, do you have up-to-date VIA 4-in-1 drivers? These seem to be regular culprits with mystery problems.)
