stuck midi notes with audigy

Hi, please could somebody help me, I have an Audigy sound card and live drive, trying to connect my midi controller keyboard to the front, but after 10 seconds notes get stuck and I have to stop audio, nightmare, can't record anything.
Any help will be most apprechiated!!
