easy midi

I have just added a soundblaster audigy to my pc. I have a midi keyboard but I find the keyboard program that comes with the sound card very basic at has about 127 different sounds but no option to record what I am playing or add new sounds. Can anybody recommend a good easy to use software program for my midi keyboard that will let me record whay I play. I would also like to be able to reord a sound and then get the keybaord to play it E.G. I would like to record glass breaking then be able to play that sound using my keyboard. I am very new to pc midi music.
