Sonar wont recognize my Midi software

My copy of Sonar 1.0 won't recognize my Microsoft GS Wavetable SW synth midi software. It only recognizes Microsoft Midi Mapper as a software available to use as an audio output, but it won't even let me use that. How can I get the software to recognize the midi software I have, and get it to use it?
