Your problem is you don't even have anything hooked up right first off what cakwalk version sre you using...should be 8 or higher. You can do live recording from there. ok your going to need a midi interface, a midi sound module, a drum machine. you hook up the keyboard to the interface, that goes to the comp. and to the sound module goes to the mixer and they go to your speakers...
Thanks for the response. I have it hooked up that way due to a friend who has a similar hookup with a very cheap keyboard and it works. If I just wanted to record Midi from my keyboard to cakewalk, I assume I wouldn't need the interface or the sound module right? Would I just need the midi cables? Oh, and I have Cakewalk 2000. Thanks for the help. sm
