Quickshot keyboard and Audigy soundcard

My pc is an Intel 400MHz Celeron with on board sound. I have a Quickshot midi keyboard controller that I connected to it through the joystick/midi port. I installed Cubasis VST 2, and it worked fine, but with significant latency.

I purchased and installed a Creative Audigy soundcard to remove the latency.

I plugged the keyboard into the joystick/midi port and it does not work!

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to overcome this?
