: : I'm using Cakewalk Home Studio and I'm not happy with notation editing. You can't delete ties without deleting all the notes, and changing note duration is generally difficult. Since I'm doing midi recordings from my synthesizer while I'm improvising, I need to do a lot of editing to clean things up. Are there other software sequencers that provide more flexibility in notation editing?

: Cakewalk Home Studio is an entry-level sequencer, so you can't expect too much from it.
: If you want pro quality notation, you need something like Sibelius or Finale.

Thanks Les. I'm not looking for pro quality notation software at this time. Just need to edit what I've recorded with the sequencer and would prefer not to have to learn more than one program at a time. Cakewalk Pro also has the same editing limitations, according to what I've read on their web site. Wondering about Cubase.
