Well, for an electronic point of view, yes and no. Yes, it will take extra time for the signal to get there, but electricity travels at near the speed of light, and you are only extending by a few feet, so no. And since the cable you are using is based on a current loop, noise should not be a problem, but keep it under 30 feet.
