Make sure that the keyboard mode is in "Solo" or "Out01" (or whichever channel you want) in the Global Setting first of all.

Secondly, what sequencing program are you using? If it is Cakewalk, CubaseVST, or a higher end sequencer, what kind of MIDI connection are you using? I had the same problem when I tried using only my Alesis serial cable. You need to get a MIDI cable hooked to either your joystick serial port or a MIDI Thru.

Other than that, you might want to check that your MIDI Thru is disabled in your sequencer if you're recording directly from the synth.

: i have just started to put my studio together.. when i record a piano part on channel on from my alesis keyboard it records fine.. then i go to channel 10 to record drums but the piano sound of channel one still can be heard and is simultaneously playing with my channel ten. i know this becaouse the circle areound the number apppears and it can be heard.. what does this mean, how can i fix it.? thanks
