I'm having the same problem. My kb is connected to a Turtle Beach Montego II sound card, and the sound card is selected as the MIDI device in the Control Panel, and in the Sibelius software (in fact I've tried to add another instrument while troubleshooting, and have been unable to). I also made sure the kb is set to transmit, but neither Sibelius nor Sonar will detect any response from the kb.
Any ideas?

: Here's a few things to try :

: 1. Check the MIDI cables (PC MIDI IN to keyboard MIDI OUT, and vice versa)
: 2. In Control Panel select SB MIDI IN as your MIDI IN device
: 3. In the MIDI software you use for recording, set your MIDI IN device to SB MIDI IN
: 4. Check your keyboard, make sure it's set to send MIDI out.

: : I'm finally switching from a hardware based midi sys to a soundcard based sys.

: : I'm working with SB Live value pack and have installed a joystick connector, but so far I can't seem to detect any response in ANY of my midi software when try to input from my keyboard. Ideally I want to play the GM banks and sound fonts from my keyboard and don't really even need to output back to the keyboard.

: : Any help would be greatly appreciated.
