You need a standard sound card MIDI adapter cable, and the external MIDI driver enabled for your sound card.
To check if the driver is working, go to :

start -> settings -> control panel -> multimedia, and select MIDI.
If you see external MIDI listed (SB MIDI OUT, External MIDI, or similar) the driver is ok.
You have to select this external port as your MIDI device in Cubase or any other MIDI software.
Check your cable, MIDI OUT should be connected to the keyboard's MIDI IN and vice versa.

: Hi!
: Do you need any drivers to be able to read midi from your synth to your computer?
: I've connected my synth through the joystick port with a normal midi cable.
: I run cubase, but it doesn't respond.
: I've got a Soundblaster Live card, with an extra card, with midi in and midi out, and a joystickport...
: Plz help!
