Can't Get Nuendo 3.2 to use Fast Track Pro(in Vista)

New to this forum.
Really hoping some kind soul will help.My stats:
Acer Aspire laptop.(Dual core).
2GB Ram
Vista Home Premium OS.
Nuendo 3.2
M-Audio Fast Track Pro.

I just got Nuendo on this laptop after having tons of issues with Cubase.For a frustratingly random reason,Nuendo refuses to swich sound card devices to Fast Track Pro.It recognizes the interface because it's on the list.But everytime I attempt to switch from one of the stupid ASIO 4 ALL or ASIO DUPLEX crap,it gives me an error message that simply says..."3!".
The problem is compounded by the fact that I cannot use the laptop headphone jack because it was broken by my spaz girlfriend a few months ago.Or else I could at least still edit around it for the time being.
As it stands,I can do nothing at all.
